From a Messy Ride to a Eureka Moment
It all started on a scorching Australian summer day. Our founder, Jay, an avid surfer and rugged outdoor enthusiast, was driving back from a perfect session at the beach. He was sun-drenched and stoked, but his car’s interior was a different story. His dripping-wet wetsuit, sand-crusted feet, and an incredibly muddy, happy dog had turned his pristine car seats into a damp, salty, smelly disaster.
As he spent the evening scrubbing the upholstery, a frustrating realization hit him. The generic seat covers available on the market were either baggy, cheap-looking sacks that slipped around, or stiff, industrial plastics that ruined the driving experience.
There has to be a better way to protect my vehicle without sacrificing style or compromising the authentic Aussie lifestyle.
That messy drive home sparked the birth of ZQ. We didn’t want to create just another generic car accessory.
